Thank you Elizabeth. I have been looking for resources on Business Portal and sadly they are scarce or may be I am not looking at the right place. This post has provided me a good insight on things to consider before a business application implementation.

I do have a few questions specific to Business Portal and was hoping for your help. Reading your post I did understand that Business Portal is now creating it's own Content Database. Questions:

1. Does this content database stores GP data or Business Portal connects to GP Company database to retrieve and display data?

2. Does Business Portal create tables in GP company database also as it asks for DYNAMICS database location?

3. Does Business Portal database needs to be created in Dynamics GP instance or MOSS instance or an independent SQL Server instance?

4. How is security handled in Business Portal? Do Business Portal inherit Security from it's top level site or is independent?

First verify that you created the custom attributes with the exact same names as those referenced in the javascript.

If that is not the issue, let me know what errors it is firing on the OnLoad and OnSave.

David, I should have been more specific. I am using Microsoft Visual Studio to develop my custom reports for CRM 4.0. If you are using VS as well you can drop the first bit of code above into Report -> Report Properties -> Code.

The second line of code will go into the actual Text Box where you are displaying the body of the email.

Sorry if I come across as dumb - this has been doing my head in for days. Where abouts does this code need to go? I have assumed that this goes in to the SSRS Report Server manager, but it keeps generating errors. Or does this need to go in through the CRM interface - if so, where?

Thanks!

Javascript code such as this can be applied to entities in CRM using the customization interface. From your homepage navigate to Settings -> Customization -> Customize Entities -> Service Activity -> Forms and Views -> Form. From there open the Form Properties window. Inside the javascript file I provided are two segments of code. One of them should be inserted into the OnLoad event of the form and the other into the OnSave event of the form.

Let me know if you run into any trouble.
